The 2010 Jetta TDI Cup Street Edition is the quintessential diesel (that’s right) sports car of the decade. This car features a 2.o Liter 140hp common rail clean diesel, with the choice of either a 6 speed manual or DSG gearbox.
The TDI Cup is not just an average diesel Jetta with a fancy body kit and nice wheels. Along with the menacing 236ft/lbs of torque, you also get the same interlagos sport seats from the range topping GLI as well as that car’s refined suspension. The brakes are an upgrade from the stock Jetta to that of the GLI/GTI as well.
This is nearly identical to the cars that are prepped for the TDI Cup race series, a tournament in which drivers aged 16-26 race TDI Jetta’s on several courses throughout the country. The winner gets a professional drivers license among other prizes.
If you want to go green without going boring, and would like to retain some driving fun, the TDI cup, at over 40mpg EPA is the car for you.
