The mad scientists over in Stuttgart have set a new precedent for awesome: the 620 horsepower 911 GT2 RS. This is the swansong of the 997 chassis, and I couldn’t think of any lyrics better than this.
The car is officially the fastest road going production car the company has ever built, with a 0-62mph time chewed up in a mere 3.4 seconds. It posted a Godzilla beating time of 7:18 on the Nurburgring’s Nordschleife circuit. Weight loss was a must, and this car has shed over 250 pounds to a supermodel weight of just 3,020lbs. This allows each of the 620 raging equines to push only 4.8lbs of the cars weight. Also reduced, astonishingly enough is the fuel consumption, which makes the car 5% more fuel efficient. Only 500 units of the range topping model will be produced at a very exclusive price of $245,000. Expect to see the GT2 RS on US shores in October.
